SERVICES operated by the trust that runs Morecambe Bay hospitals are set to be 'showcased' at a series of public events throughout March.

Members of the public will be able to find out more information about departments within the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, including the catering service which is currently being featured on a BBC1 programme about hospital food, as part of the free events which are to be held in town centre locations.

“We hope as many people as possible will come along on the day to find out information about the services they are interested in," said John Cowdall, chair of the trust.

“Members of the public will be able to speak first hand to our doctors, nurses, midwives and health professionals about the changes that have taken place locally, as well as finding out more about the services on offer.

“If we cannot answer their queries on the day we will ensure they receive an answer afterwards."

The roadshow will also feature hearing screening tests and a resuscitation (CPR) challenge, as well as a demonstration of the trust's IT systems and stands and stalls.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet some of the people in charge of the trust's hospitals - Westmorland General, Furness General and Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

The first event will be held at Forum 28 in Barrow on March 5.

Two further roadshows will be held on March 11 at Lancaster Town Hall and on March 18 at Kendal Town Hall, all between 10am and 2pm.
