A WOMAN had to be freed from her car after it was in collision with another vehicle on the outskirts of Kendal.

Firefighters, police and paramedics all attended the incident which occurred shortly before 12.20pm yesterday, on the A65..

The incident involved two cars on a stretch of road between Barrows Green and Crooklands.

Fire crews from Kendal and Milnthorpe attended and cut the roof from a Volkswagen Golf which the woman was driving.

She was removed from the car on a spinal board and taken into the care of paramedics.

Her current condition is unclear although Kendal station manager Steve Sharrock said her injuries were 'unlikely' to be life-threatening.

The incident closed the road temporarily and fire crews said they were on the scene for around an hour.

"The incident took place between two cars outside the Storth End Hotel in Barrows Green."

No idea where that is! Google can't find a Storth End Hotel anywhere, let alone in Barrows Green. There is a Storth End Farm at Stainton, is that where you mean? Has it recently becoma a hotel?

Stainton road end and Storth End Farm is where the accident was.
Must say, that traffic travels much too fast on this section of 400yds
of the A65 where there are 4 road ends and sharpish bends.
