CUMBRIA Police have confirmed that the man who died in a collision on the A595 near Foxfield yesterday was Andrew ‘Bomb’ Taylor, aged 47, from Parkhouse Court, Barrow in Furness.
At 1:30pm police were called to reports of a car and a lorry being involved in a collision.
Mr Taylor, the driver of a Peugeot 307, died at the scene, despite the efforts of the paramedics.
The lorry driver, aged 38, from Otterburn, was not injured.
The road was closed until 5:15pm while collision investigation officers carried out enquiries.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to get in contact with PC Chris Smith from the Operational Support Unit at Cumbria Constabulary on 101.
