Backgammon is a big hit
ENTRIES have closed for the first Lake District backgammon championship – because of overwhelming demand from players.
The contest, to be staged at Windermere's Cedar Manor hotel on April 27, attracted interest from all over the UK after details were posted on the hotel’s website last week.
Owner Jonathan Kaye said: "We've had a fantastic response. It looks like I won't get a game now."
