A RARE baby giraffe at Dalton zoo has been injured in an accident.

Belle, who was only born last month, dislocated her left back leg when her pregnant aunt brushed past her.

On Facebook, the South Lakes Wild Animal Park said: “Belle is having the best treatment and we are watching the situation.

“She can still walk with a limp and we are hoping for a recovery.”

The female West African Giraffe was due in April, but was born on February 18.
