A MAN in his sixties was airlifted to hospital after suffering a suspected broken ankle in a fall in Coniston.
Thirteen members of Coniston Mountain Rescue team went to the man's aid at 2.20pm yesterday (Tuesday).
He was descending Goats Hawse with a walking group when he slipped.
The man was treated by team members and a paramedic from the North West Air Ambulance.
He was then stretchered from the fell to the cove area below Goats Water where he was transferred to the air ambulance for the journey to Lancaster Royal Infirmary.
