A SAFE was stolen in a raid on a Windermere nursery.

Police are investigating the burglary at Thornleigh Day Nursery on Thornbarrow Road.

It happened overnight from March 12 to March 13.

Deputy manager Rachel Cartlidge said: "They broke the lock on our main door and then broke into the office to take the safe.

"It was money from parents paying for their children."

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Wright at Windermere Police on 101.
