A YOUNG girl has been allegedly assaulted in a Kendal park.

Police said the 10-year-old was playing football in Abbot Hall Park on Saturday (March 15) at 5.30pm when she was allegedly attacked.

A group of young males was also in the park.

One male with a stick in his hand was alleged to have hit her in the back, leaving a mark, in a non-provoked attack.

Police have described the young males as being around the ages of 12 and 13.

One male was said to have brown hair and was wearing purple chinos and a green hoodie.

Another male was described as having light brown hair with dark bits in it, and wearing purple chinos and a blue hoody.
