ONE of the world's top vets has been called to South Lakes Wild Animal Park to decide what is best for a rare giraffe who was injured in a 'freak accident'.
Belle, the Dalton zoo's West African Giraffe baby, was injured earlier this month.
Born on February 18, she quickly became a hit at the zoo but earlier this month she dislocated her left back leg when her pregnant aunt brushed past her.
A zoo spokesperson said: "So many people are enquiring about Belle who dislocated her hip in a very simple freak accident a few days after her birth, thank you for caring.
"The news is not good and we should not expect it to get better for her.
"We have arranged for one of the top zoo vets in the world to visit us next week for an opinion on what is best for her."
