SANDYLANDS will be treated to a make-over this Easter as part of a community project.
The HOPE Sandylands Easter event will see churches, college students and local residents team up to take on tasks ranging from painting over graffiti to making local residents’ gardens brighter.
The event, which takes place from April 4-13, is the brainchild of Sandylands Methodist Church in partnership with St Thomas’ Church, Southlakes Housing, and the local Residents’ Association.
Projects will include painting Haytons Cut through and sprucing up Longlands’ gardens for spring.
On April 10-1 there will be film and craft afternoons for children and a film night for adults with a screening of Oscar blockbuster ‘Gravity’.
The 10-days of community action end with ‘The Big Breakfast’ on Palm Sunday (April 14) with bacon butties from 11am to 1pm on Sandylands Green.
