IT was full steam ahead at the Ingleborough District Model Rail Fair at Settle Primary School.
The event, organised by Dave Burrows, saw exhibitors and dealers from across the north provide a stream of visitors with plenty to see while Scouts were kept busy selling tombola and raffle rickets.
The winning layout was built by Norman Dray, the former district chairman. District Cub leader Mary Anne Burrows served cakes donated by local Scouting supporters all day and Tom Lothian, who will represent the district at the World Scout Jamboree in Japan next year, kept youngsters amused with a challenge to transfer sweets from one bowl to another with chopsticks.
By the end of the day, £327 had been raised for Scout funds, with a further £130 being donated to 1st Castleberg (Settle) Scouts.
