YOUNGSTERS from three North Craven schools stepped back in time to the Victoria era.

About 70 key stage two pupils from the Confederation of Horton-in-Ribblesdale, Austwick and Clapham Primary Schools enjoyed a trip to Bradford Industrial Museum.

Before going, the youngsters learned poems to recite and songs to sing.

“Some were terrified by the Victorian classroom experience,” said confederation head teacher Gill Woods.

“They looked at Victorian lives and were extremely grateful for the conditions they had today – and they had a whale of a time.”
