A MAN has died after being struck by a train at Penrith rail station.
British Transport police were alerted at 9.15am this morning (March 27).
Glyn Hellam, from the British Transport Police said: “We attended the scene with Cumbria police and the North West Ambulance Service and discovered that a man had been struck by a train and killed.
“Police are not treating the death as suspicious and are now working to identify the man and notify his family."
A spokesperson for Network Rail confirmed some disruption to travel had been caused.
