TWO helicopters assisted in the rescue of an injured walker from a Lake District mountain.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue were called out at around 4pm on Saturday when the man fell on Great Gable.
The 67-year-old from Derby suffered an ‘incapacitating knee injury’ in the fall.
The Great North Air Ambulance flew Wasdale team members to the scene.
A helicopter from RAF Boulmer winched the casualty from the mountain and flew him to Cumberland Infirmary for further treatment.
