POLICE have confirmed that a 49-year-old woman found in a stream at Glenridding last night has died in hospital.
Police were called at around 7pm to Glenridding to a report of a woman found in a stream, near Seldom Seen.
Police attended along with members of three mountain rescue teams, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, and local doctors.
She was airlifted by a Royal Navy Sea King helicopter to Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester.
Police said she was 'in a critical condition', and died earlier this morning (Wednesday).
There are no suspicious circumstances at this time.
Police are working to formally identify her and support her family.
