PLACES are still available on a free adventure journey along England’s biggest lake.
A canoe trip to explore the ecology of Windermere has been organised by green campaigners Windermere Reflections on Saturday April 26.
No experience is needed but you must be able to swim confidently for 20 metres.
Along the way, the paddlers will learn about the past, the present and future of the lake, and consider the important role of reedbeds.
The trip leaves Low Wood at 10.30am, returning at 3pm, and participants are asked to bring a packed lunch, towels, warm clothes and spare shoes.
The event is organised in conjunction with the John Muir club and the University of Cumbria.
Booking is essential; contact Claire Backhouse on 07966936008.
