A SPECIAL train was put on today to celebrate the 25th anniversary of saving the Settle-Carlisle Line from closure.
En route from Leeds to Carlisle, the train passed through Appleby railway station at about 12pm today.
It was carrying invited guests including the likes of Michael Portillo, who announced the saving of the line.
