AN Ofsted inspection of Appleby Grammar School has praised its ‘significant improvement’.
The second inspection followed a November visit by the education watchdog which graded the school as ‘requiring improvement’.
Its main findings highlighted the determination of leaders, governors and staff to achieve a good grade in as short a time as possible.
Recognition was also made of the challenging targets for achievement and teachers’ performance.
The inspector said a lot had been achieved since the last inspection.
Head teacher Andrew Lund said: “We view the comments in the report as milestones on our journey to becoming a good and outstanding school.
“It is pleasing that improvements have been recognised and praised by Ofsted.”
