ENTERPRISING pupils from a north Lancashire school took part in a week-long event to learn how businesses work.
Each class from Warton’s Archbishop Hutton’s Primary School ran its own business and created a product to sell during Enterprise Week.
And at the end of the experiment, the school held an enterprise sale for parents and friends.
Six local businesses supported teams with advice, information and free goods or allowed pupils to visit them to see the business first hand.
Class One made Cookies in a Jar, calling themselves the Rookie Cookie Company – backed by local cake making business ‘Celebrate with Jackie’.
Class Two made card making kits supported by Carnforth Bookshop and Class Three ran a garden centre and sold flowing plants and planting kits with help from Beetham Nurseries.
Class Four created wooden memo boards with backing from Carnforth Bookshop while Class Five rolled back the years to make war-time themed soup and candles with aid from Wax Lyrical of Lindal-in-Furness and Class Six made small gift items from recycled fabrics – supported by Etty-Lilly at Bolton le Sands and Rowan Vintage Crafts, Carnforth.
