CHILDREN raced down a ski slope to win trophies last seen a quarter of a century ago.
Tracy Oncal, event organiser and coach at Kendal Snowsports Club, wanted to revive the old Cumbria inter-schools ski racing which last took place in 1989 β and 12 schools from Kendal and district took up the challenge.
Twenty-two teams were involved in categories for Year Six and under and Year Three and under.
The winners of the older category were Jade Jones, Oliver Woodburn, Ben Howe and Elliot Woodburn from Vicarage Park School, while Alice Sanderson, Anna Roberts, Sophie Roberts and Izzy Sanderson won the younger category for Selside Primary.
Elspeth Mason, mother of one of the competitors, said: βThe new spectators area helped create quite an atmosphere for parents, families and a lot of very happy kids.β
