AN INFORMATION evening is to be hosted at the Westmorland General Hospital eye clinic for sufferers of glaucoma.

The event will take place on Thursday May 8, 2014, between 6 and 8pm and will provide information for those who want to learn more about the disease, with a focus on those who are newly-diagnosed.

Associate specialist ophthalmic surgeon, Mr Georgios Limitsios, who will be speaking at the event, said: “This is an evening to help patients improve their understanding of glaucoma and be more involved with its management.”

Also speaking will be David Harris from the International Glaucoma Association.

The event is jointly organised by the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust - which runs WGH - and Sight Advice South Lakes and the International Glaucoma Association.

The evening is open to patients, their families and carers.
