AN AMBLESIDE cinema is to hold the premier of a film inspired by an Alfred Wainwright book.
Downhill is a comedy that centres on four childhood friends as they attempt to complete the Coast to Coast walk from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire.
The cast includes Richard Lumsden from Sightseers; Karl Theobald from Alan Partridge and Alpha Papa; Jeremy Swift, from Downton Abbey, and Ned Dennehy, who starred in Luther.
The film was directed by James Rouse and is inspired by Wainwright’s Coast to Coast Walk book.
The stars and creators will be at the May 27 event at Zeffirellis in person.

Tickets are £20 with £10 going to Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team.
The glittering reception will take place from 7pm and will include themed canapés, bubbly, themed real ale plus live music before the film begins at 8pm.
