SEASONED long distance walkers are invited to retrace the steps of Alfred Wainwright in the Pennine Journey Memorial Walk.
The event will see participants complete the route within the same time frame as the great fellwalker did in 1938.
Wainwright walked around 210 miles between September 25 and October 5 but the Memorial Walkers will be set the more challenging task of walking the modern Pennine Journey of 247 miles.
MORE TOP STORIES: The event will be run by the Pennine Journeys Supporters Club (PJSC) in partnership with Brigantes Walking Holidays.
It comes as PJSC celebrates the completion of the waymarking of the entire route by the highway agencies in time for the 75th anniversary of Wainwright’s journey.
