THE Overground Underground Festival is returning to Ingleborough for its fourth year, and it is showcasing a mouthwatering new event.
For the first time the festival’s itinerary includes the Ingleborough Dale Delicious Food Trail, an exhibition of the region’s local produce.
The event, taking place in Ingleton, North Yorkshire, from May 24 to May 26, is designed to cater for a variety of ages, offering everything from stunt-biking into a giant airbag to wildflower walks and, as its name suggests, underground caving.
Debby Kuhlmann, a volunteer organiser, said: “New partnerships this year have energised new activities such as a fantastic collaboration with Kendal Mountain Festival enabling us to feature a spectacular evening of high adrenaline outdoor films.
"We are also excited to have received support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, via the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, to find out how local people and visitors would like to see the Festival develop in coming years.”

Don Gamble, of the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, said: “The Festival offers a great range of events and activities to enable people to find out more about this fantastic area, and the organisers’ wish to develop the reach and impact of the Festival fits in really well with the aims of the Ingleborough Dales Landscape Partnership, a major heritage-based programme that we and our partners are currently developing.”
The festival is run by volunteers and its existence depends on donations.
