A TEAM of Police officers from Kendal and Windermere are cycling 600 miles from Blackpool Tower to its French counterpart - the Eiffel Tower.
Six serving and three recently retired officers will be joined by Windermere businessman Paul Liddell in a bid to raise £10,000 for North West Air Ambulance and Royal Lancaster Infirmary Neonatal Unit (Special Care Baby Unit).
They will be meeting the costs for the journey themselves and have received support from local businesses.
On Sunday (April 27) the team will be riding turbo trainers at ASDA Kendal and meeting interested members of the public.
Donations to either or both of the charities can be made by clicking the respective links at the team’s just giving page: www.justgiving.com/teams/SLPT2T2014.
The ride takes place from June 23-8.
