CYCLISTS with a taste for a challenge are being urged to sign up for a ‘horror’ of a bike ride through the Dales.
Sedbergh School will be hosting the Howgill Horror, which will take participants on a 50-mile route from the school to Garsdale, Orton and Newbiggin-on-Lune, raising money for the Sedbergh School Foundation.
The Foundation is raising funds to support the Springboard Bursary, which has been set up to enable youngsters from disadvantaged areas in Northern cities to attend a boarding school.
Participants will also be able to sign up for alternative routes of 30 or 18 miles which will also go ahead on June 8, at 9am.
All riders must be over 12 years old and riders aged between 12 and 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Once the riders have returned there will be a free a barbecue lunch.
The entry fee is £25 and anyone who raises £100 for the Sedbergh School Foundation will receive a free Howgill Horror Cycling shirt.
More information about the event can be found at www.sedberghschool.org/foundation
