Jess Gillam, 15, is in the final five of the woodwind finals of BBC Young Musician of the Year, which will be broadcast on BBC Four at 7pm.

She now studies at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and has organised her own concert series in Ulverston at the Coronation Hall.
The competition is one of the most prestigious classical music competitions and has launched the careers of many successful musicians such as Nicola Benedetti and Alison Balsom.
