Mountain rescuers respond to hang glider crash reports

MOUNTAIN rescuers responded to reports of a hang glider crashing near Tebay (yesterday).

Kendal MRT was called by police at 5.15pm following a motorist's report of seeing a hang glider come down on Blease Fell and someone waving their arms near it.

A team spokeperson said: "The full team was put on standby while two team members went to investigate the report.

"Nothing was found so the team was stood down at 6.20pm.

"A report from a member of the public with the best of intentions."
