A CHAMPAGNE dinner is being held at a Lake District inn.

The Wild Boar at Crook is hosting the Champagne tasting on Tuesday (May 6).

Andy Lemm, general manager of The Wild Boar, said: “We are really looking forward to hosting this event.

“Laurent- Perrier will be providing a lovely range of Champagnes for people to sample, alongside dishes from our delicious menu.”

A sumptuous four course dinner will be served accompanied by a specially selected champagne to go with each dish.

Stuart Birtles from Laurent-Perrier will be hosting and talking guests through the Laurent-Perrier Champagne portfolio.

The tasting will include Laurent-Perrier Brut, Ultra Brut, Vintage, and a Rose to finish.

Canapés will be served, followed by their own damson gin cured and smoked Loch Duart salmon, then wild boar medallions, topped off with strawberry panna cotta.

Mr Lemm added: “Stuart Birtles from Laurent-Perrier will be giving a talk on the company’s champagne portfolio, so it should be an interesting and really enjoyable evening.

“We do a lot of whisky tasting events, but this is our first Champagne tasting evening and I’m sure it will be just as popular.”
