A FORMER Kendal Mountain Rescue Team leader has been presented with a Territorial Policing Commander's Certificate of Merit for his ‘exceptional service to the community’.
Eddie Harrison, whose radio call-sign is ‘Kendal Eddie', was presented with the award by Chief Superintendent Steve Johnson.
Over 24 years with the team, Mr Harrison has attended an estimated 1,000 incidents. He stepped down as leader in 2013 after four years – prior to that he served as Deputy Team Leader for ten years.
He is continuing his service to the team in an operations support role.
Current team leader Dave Howarth said that Mr Harrison’s award was ‘thoroughly deserved’ and that he ‘values greatly the continued support and advice that he provides’.
