ELECTRICITY North West is to begin utility works along a single carriageway section of the A590 near to Ulverston from Monday.
The Highways Agency has been advised of the work to the westbound carriageway at Swarthmoor. The work is expected to last until early July.
Temporary traffic signals will be put in place to manage eastbound and westbound traffic past the works between 8.30am and 4.30pm each weekday.
MORE TOP STORIES: Some working may also be needed at weekends. The traffic signals will be staffed for the first and final hours of each day’s working period to help reduce needless queuing at the lights.
Any residents or drivers with any issues or inquiries about the work should contact Electricity North West on 0800 195 4141 or on Twitter @ElectricityNW.
Drivers are advised to check traffic and travel conditions before setting out on journeys.
The Highways Agency provides live traffic information – including traffic flows - via its website www.highways.gov.uk/traffic. Information is also available from local and national radio travel bulletins, electronic road signs and mobile platforms, such as the iPhone. Local Twitter services are also available at @HAtraffic_nwest and @HAtraffic_pen9 for transpennine routes.
