A MAN who had a heart attack while at a GP surgery had to be airlifted to hospital.
The 49-year-old from Kirkby Stephen was in a critical and life-threatening condition after suffering a heart attack at the GP surgery in the town yesterday.
He was treated by GP staff before being airlifted by the Great North Air Ambulance to the PCI centre at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, at 10.30am.
On arrival his condition was stable.
