A SPECIAL run for vintage and historic commercial vehicles will take place on Sunday to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the memorial on the summit of the A6 at Shap Fell.
The convoy of vehicles will set out from the British Commercial Vehicle Museum in Leyland and follow the route of the A6 with a half way stop at Truckhaven, Carnforth, before tackling the climb up Shap.
MORE TOP STORIES: The expected time of arrival at the summit of the A6 is 12.30 pm. The vehicles will then continue into the village where refreshments will be available in the Memorial Hall. The Market Cross Heritage Centre will also be open to allow viewing of the Shap Memorial Trust archive.
The event is jointly organised by the British Commercial Vehicle Museum and Shap Memorial Trust which is responsible for the upkeep of the memorial and is administered by Shap Local History Society.
