A ‘LITTLER’ version of an already popular beer at Hawkshead Brewery has been launched.

Named after the Maori word for ‘little’, Iti is the second beer that Hawkshead, Staveley, has brewed using only New Zealand hops.

Head Brewer Matt Clarke said: “This new beer is the little brother of NZPA (New Zealand Pale Ale) at six per cent which is one of our stronger beers.

“In brewing Iti we have done something quite rare in that we have brewed a ‘littler’, more accessible version.”

Iti is a 3.5 per cent pale ale, brewed with low colour Maris Otter pale malt and several New Zealand hops.

Available in cask and keg, the ale joins the brewery’s portfolio of modern hop forward beers which already includes NZPA, first brewed in July 2011.

Mr Clarke added: “The pale malt base used in brewing Iti is the perfect showcase for New Zealand hops.”

Iti is being officially launched in Staveley at The Beer Hall, Hawkshead Brewery, this weekend (May 17 and 18).
