A fashion show at Dean Gibson Primary School, Kendal, raised money to buy books for its library and for the charity Sight Advice South Lakes.

Pupils modelled items of bedtime, summer and school clothing from George at Asda, raising £286, which will be match funded by the store.

Lisa Thompson, the charity’s administrator, said: “The little ones stole the show and knew exactly how to walk - it was like they had been models for ages!”

A dance troup from the Tokari School of Theatre Arts kicked off the catwalk show, in which 16 children aged four to 11 took part.
