STAFF, pupils, governors and parents from Queen Elizabeth School, Kirkby Lonsdale, are this weekend taking part in a 'Bob Graham Round' relay to raise money for two charities.
They plan to complete the 72-mile circuit of 42 of the Lake District’s highest peaks (27,000ft of climbing) in less than 24 hours.
Money raised will go to the Paul Percy Memorial Fund which provides grants for young people to enable them to get involved in outdoor activities.
Mr Percy was a teacher within the school who tragically lost his life while walking in the Langdales.
And also benefiting will be The Dwarf Sports Association which supports families of children with Dwarfism and gives them access to sporting activities up to an international standard.
The attempt started at midnight on Friday May 16 from the Moot Hall in Keswick and involved participants running sections of the round in small groups handing a digital camera as a baton on to the next set of runners.
