THE roof, windscreen and bonnet of a Jaguar car was heavily damaged in a deliberate rock attack on Friday, police have said today.

The gold-coloured car was parked on what police described as a layby on the A65 near to Crooklands garage when an unknown vandal caused criminal damage using a large rock.

Cumbria Police say the incident occurred while it was still light - between 5pm and 8.30pm and appealed for any witnesses who may have passed the scene on what can be a busy road.

The model of the vehicle has not been released.

The investigating officer is PC 117 Berrill who can be contacted by calling the non-emergency 101 number.
