TWO people have been jailed for a total of five years for drugs offences in South Cumbria.
Andrew Hall, 39, from Anson Street, Barrow, was sentenced to three years for possession with intent to supply heroin.
Kerry Carswell, 34, also from Anson Street, Barrow, received two years for possession with intent to supply heroin.
Both were sentenced on Friday (May 16) at Barrow Crown Court.
On January 21 police officers observed Carswell exchanging drugs for money on the street.
She was arrested and her home was searched.
When officers arrived Hall was at the property and was said to be 'acting suspiciously'.
When searched by police he was found to have been hiding heroin.

Detective Constable Jamie Eaton said: “Work is constantly ongoing in South Cumbria to tackle drug issues.
"The last few weeks have seen a number of people being brought before the courts and punished for their involvement in drug crime.
“We hope that this sends a strong message to all those involved in criminal activity relating to drugs, and also to the community.”
