MORE than 500 people attended an annual British Red Cross fund-raising event at Sizergh Castle which raised £5,458 for the charity.
The Red Cross encouraged people to donate their pre-loved bicycles to be sold, and British Cycling teamed up with The National Trust to bring two Sky Ride Local cycle rides to the historic house’s car boot sale and bike festival on the same day.
One of the guided rides started at Gooseholme in Kendal while the other started in the castle grounds and involved a circular ride through the Lyth Valley and back.
