A SOUTH Lakeland youngster has won an award for her part in an amateur pantomime production.
Molly Hirst, 18, was awarded the North West award for ‘best female comedy part’ by the National Operatic Drama Association, for playing Simple Simon in Grange Amateur Operatic Society’s production of Jack and the Beanstalk at Christmas.
She collected the award at a ‘glitzy’ presentation night in Manchester.
The former Queen Elizabeth School, Kirkby Lonsdale, pupil was hailed by a spokesman for the drama group.
“This was a brilliant end to her time with all the other young performers, before she heads off to university in September,” she said.
“Grange should be rightly proud of having such talented young people in the area.”
