AN Everest mountaineer will be swapping crampons for sandals during a charity walk across the sands of Morecambe Bay.
Doug Scott CBE will be taking part in the walk on August 2, which is open to all, to raise funds for health posts and schools in Nepal operated by his Cumbrian-based charity Community Action Nepal.
It is hoped £3,000 will be raised during the event, which will be led by Queen’s Guide to the Sands Cedric Robinson, to support health care in remote mountain areas.
