ULVERSTON International Music Festival opens on Friday, (June 6, 7.30pm) with Tango Milonga at the Coronation Hall.
Headlined by violinist supreme Nicola Benedetti (Sunday, June 15, 6pm) the illustrious festival runs from June 6-15.
Festival founder Anthony Hewitt said organising the festival for the past 11 years had been a privilege and a challenge: “It brings me huge satisfaction to see so many people enjoying so many varied aspects of classical music – ranging from comedy to the spirited tango event.
“We also take great pride in involving so many local people in our events and engaging with young people through workshops and competitions because they are the lifeblood of the future.”
More details and tickets are available from the Coronation Hall on 01229-587140 or at www.ulverstonmusicfestival.co.uk.
