TWO Kendal paramedics are heading to Europe to be part of the medical team covering Lawrence Dallaglio’s Cycle Slam.

Rob Watson and Scott Stephens will support the riders as they take on ascents of 5052m and distances of over 100k per day over the Alps.

The charity event goes from Treviso in Italy and finishes up its last leg from Leeds to Twickenham - just before the Tour de France Yorkshire.

This year there are around 75 riders taking part, celebrities include Lawrence Dallaglio, Martin Johnson, John Hannah, and Andrew Ridgeley.

Rob and Scott, both live in Kendal, and currently work in the HART (Hazardous Area Response Team) at Trafford, Manchester.

Rob worked on the Slam two years ago, and was requested back by Dallaglio.

Cycle Slam raises money for youth engagement and a social inclusion programme, and is also supporting the Teenage Cancer trust.
