UPDATE: Soldier fatally injured at Warcop Training Centre named

A SOLDIER who died in an incident involving a vehicle rolling over at the Warcop Training Centre yesterday (June 4) has been named as Sergeant Mark Foley.
The 31-year-old member of The Light Dragoons, from Hull, died and two others were injured in the incident which the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) was called to at 11.01pm after a ‘vehicle rolled over’.
An Army spokesperson said: “It is with great sadness that the Army can confirm that Sergeant Mark Foley of The Light Dragoons was sadly killed in a military vehicle whilst training on Warcop training area on Wednesday, 4th June.
“ The accident is being investigated by the Land Accident Investigation Team. The family have requested privacy at this time.”
Kelly Foley, Sgt Foley’s wife, said: “He was my soul mate and my best friend, who always made me laugh.
“The best dad ever to Emily and Hannah. “He loved us, his job and Hull FC.
“We will miss him so much.”
A NWAS spokesman said that a rapid response vehicle and ambulance attended but one casualty was dead on arrival at the base, near Appleby.

A 19-year-old casualty was airlifted to The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough by the Great North Air Aumbulance.
The third casualty was said to have stayed at the base.
Lieutenant Colonel James Senior (Commanding Officer, The Light Dragoons) said: “Sergeant Foley was an exceptionally talented, battle-hardened soldier who embodied everything that is good about our profession.
“Sgt Foley made an astonishing contribution to our Regimental family, and his loss is a devastating shock.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and young family.”
