FIREFIGHTERS were called to two fires in an hour in Appleby in the early hours of Monday morning.
At 12.45am one fire engine each from Appleby, Penrith and Kirby Stephen attended a fire involving rubbish and a tree at Garth Heads Road.
An hour later one fire engine from Appleby was called to a fire involving a skip at The Sands.
The crew used a hose reel jet to put out the fire.
