Fundraiser for Burma's orphans to be held in honour of man who died on Keswick fells - Beyonce's former backing singer will perform
An emotional charity gig will be held in memory of an ‘amazing man’ who died on Eel Crag, Keswick.
Before his untimely death six years ago, James Marshall dedicated his life to helping Orphans in Burma.
He was planning another visit to Myanmar when he was blown off the crag in high winds.
Long-standing friend and Kendal-based estate agent Iain Bainbridge has organised a fundraising event with all proceeds going to the Burmese orphans James dearly loved.
At 7:30pm on Friday, June 13, the Shakespeare Centre on Highgate will host the music-based fundraiser.
Local part-time musicians Abby Columbi and John Osborne, a web designer and solictor respectively, will perform.
Amazingly, Abby has previously performed on stage with Beyonce.

Iain, who knew James from the age of 12, said: “I want to show that James has not been forgotten.
"This is an opportunity to start something significant for orphans in Myanmar who have absolutely nothing.
"James told me that they rely on the love and human interaction they get from volunteers like him who visit them.
"There is, as is often mentioned, a real need for the issue of affordable housing to be tackled in South Lakeland but it’s good for us to remember the bigger picture and to think of those in a far more desperate situation.”
Tickets can be bought online for £7 at www.northernskykendal.com or on the door for £10.
Every penny will go to Orphan’s Hope.
