NINE bobbies and a businessman will embark upon an epic 600-mile cycle ride on Monday.
The team from Kendal and Windermere are set to ride from Blackpool Tower to the Eiffel Tower to raise cash for the North West Air Ambulance and the Royal Lancaster Infirmary Neonatal unit.
And they are already well on their way to a £10,000 target with about £8,000 in the bag.
Inspector Paul Latham, from Kendal Police Station, said: “I think everybody is geared up and can’t wait to get started now.
“We’re hoping for nice weather and a bit of wind on our backs.”
Travelling about 100 miles a day, they will make three stopovers in the UK and three in France before reaching Paris.
