TWO Cumbrian singers are heading across the Atlantic for a spectacular vocal event.
Dave Brown and Phil Hull, are both leads with Bolton’s Cottontown Chorus, who won the British Association of Barbershop Singers competition in 2013, landing a gold medal for the fifth time.
As a result, they qualified for this year’s International Barbershop Convention in Las Vegas – effectively the world championship – on July 4 in front of an audience of 9,000.
Phil, a former Kendal town treasurer, is excited at the prospect and said: “It’s not everyone who can claim, in all honesty, they have sung to 9,000 people in Las Vegas.”
