A POETRY competition is keeping the literary legacy alive at Beatrix Potter’s former Bowness home.
Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel is asking children to pen a Japanese haiku for their ‘Haiku at the Howe’ contest for the chance to win prizes and have their work displayed.
Children aged between seven and 11 can enter up to three haiku about what they like about the Lake District by July 1, and these should include their name and age, plus an address, number and email.
Entries can be sent to Clare Bateman, Lindeth Howe, Lindeth Drive, Longtail Hill, Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria, LA23 3JF.
