A MAN ejected from a South Lakeland pub after making ‘insulting gestures’ towards a singer performing there has been handed a 12-month community order.
Christopher Mason, 36, of Ryleyfield Road, Milnthorpe, pleaded guilty at South Lakeland Magistrates’ Court to using threatening and abusive behaviour when at the town’s Bull’s Head pub on April 19.
The court heard that as Mason was being taken out of the front door, he grabbed a 66-year-old man and pulled him out with him, causing him to fall backwards down some steps.
As part of his community order Mason was ordered to undertake an alcohol treatment programme and supervision requirement.
He was also ordered to pay £100 compensation, £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
